| It seems obvious for FAZ: expression has always gone through matter.Language could not find a better echo than in form. As a child already, she learned sculpture, with eyes wide open. Watching these women sculptors from another age, who used to come, in the summertime, to the family house, in the heart of Provence. Her mother’s “dear friends”, from Holland, from Britain … who liked to work the earth, the stone, the most precious materials under the dazzling southern light. Strong but delicate. In her teens, FAZ’s profound aspiration was to study Fine Arts, wishing this passion could shape into an artistic evolution, a craft. But the outlook of society, of a mother, of a father … leads her on a different path, research in agronomy. FAZ’s official evolution is that of a woman of her time, with many facets and idiosyncrasies. Light but profound. And the need to create is persistent. What’s deeply felt must come out. Now a mature woman, FAZ takes up sculpture again, without compromise: she devotes all her energy, most of her time to her art and craft. Research, drawing, work, masters and techniques. Learning and exploring the inner self. Her sculptures are her mirror image. Such gentleness hides something. Such energy conceals something, something fragile. Today, FAZ chooses to display Her Women. Revealing their mystery, their contradiction, sometimes their inner cracks: how complex their universe and their choice can be. Free women, dutiful women, women in love, androgynous women. |
